Steve Douglas Hawkins

Steve Douglas Hawkins, 60, of Powhatan, VA, passed away on October 3, 2024 in his home to be with our Lord. Steve was a loving son, husband, and father. Born in Richmond, Va on August 16, 1964, he was preceded in death by his parents James R. and Doris W. Hawkins. He is survived by his wife Cindy of twenty-four years and his two sons James and Jackson. Steve graduated from Huguenot Academy. He also earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Richmond. His pride and joy were his two sons. He spent their childhood coaching teams and cheering from the stands. Steve met many great friends throughout the boys sport years that would prove to be friends for a lifetime. Another tremendous part of his life was his work family. Steve worked at Philip Morris for over thirty-five years. He considered many of his co-workers as more than friends but as family. Steve was the kindest man you could ever meet. He truly cared about everyone he surrounded himself with. He will be missed forever. 

 The family will receive friends Friday, October 11, 2024, in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy, Powhatan, Va, 6:00-8:00 PM where services will be held Saturday, 1:00 PM. The reception immediately following will be at 1933 Public House (3844 Old Buckingham Rd, Powhatan, Va, 23139) immediately following until 4:00 PM. The burial will be a family graveside service.
