Tammie Lorraine Butler

Tammie Langston Butler, 58, of Powhatan County, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017.

Tammie was born on September 18, 1958, in Wilson, NC. She graduated from Clover Hill High School before becoming a para-legal at Virginia Housing Development Association. She later became a teaching assistant in Powhatan County schools. While she loved educating her students, she was happiest when surrounded by her family and holding her grandbaby.

Tammie is survived by Barry Butler, her loving husband of 30 years; her son Kyle Butler and his fiancé, Adrienne Johnson and her daughter Kyndal Butler; her granddaughter, Marley Sedivy; her mother, Ruth Langston; and her brother and sister-in-law Kent and Tracey Langston.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Wayne Langston.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, September 24 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the funeral home.

A service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 25 at Bennett and Barden Funeral Home, Powhatan. Interment will follow at the Powhatan Community Cemetery.
