Tommy Mays, Jr

Tommy Mays, Jr. 77, of Powhatan, son of the late Willard T. and Estelle Neidham Mays, Sr., died December 27, 2012. He is survived by his wife of many years, caregiver of fourteen years and best friend for fifty years, Dot C. Mays; three sons, Michael Mays (Debbie), Tripp Mays (Theresa), Derek O. Cornette; one sister Joyce Shagna; one brother Jimmy Mays (Gloria); four grandchildren, Morgan Cornette, Jennifer Mays, Jessica Mays, Michael Mays and one great grandson, Grayson Mays. Tom was retired from the Carpenters' Local where he was a member for more than 35 years. The family will receive friends Friday (tonight) from 6 to 8pm at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), Powhatan and where services will be held Saturday 2pm. Interment Powhatan Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Powhatan Animal Hospital Memorial Fund, 2540 Anderson Hwy. Powhatan, Va. 23139.
