Walter T. Johnson, Jr.

Walter T. Johnson, Jr., 80, of Powhatan, went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 22, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Betty Joyce Johnson; daughters, Janet Tignor (David), Karen Johnson (Chuck); grandchildren, Jeffery, Clarice, Henry, Christen and spouses; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Butkiewicus; brothers, Frank, Harold, Charles, Carl. Walter was a U.S. Army Veteran, retired from Philip Morris. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering with small engines, and camping with his family. The family will receive friends 2 pm to 4 pm and 6pm to 8 pm, Friday December 30th at Bennett and Barden Funeral Home, Powhatan, where his service will be held 2 PM Monday January 2. Interment will follow in Powhatan Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
