William Louis Damewood,Jr., 86, of Powhatan, Virginia, passed away May 21, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Louis Damewood, Sr. and Mary Louise Damewood. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marsha Damewood; daughters, Belinda Damewood (Margo) and Cindy Saunders (James); grandchildren, Kaitlin Barkley (Logan) and Jacob Saunders; great-grandson, Kurtis; brother, John Damewood (Carol).
Bill graduated Manchester High School in the Class of 1956. After graduation he went on to work many years in the credit risk industry before retiring in 2000.
He was a beloved softball coach for many years and an avid golfer. He also cherished time with his buddies at the County Seat Restaurant each week. Bill was a long standing member of The Huguenot Ruritan Club, where he served as both President and Treasurer.
A service will be held Monday, June 3rd, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the Powhatan United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Powhatan United Methodist Church where Bill was a memeber for over 23 years. Online condolences may be made at bennettbardenfh.com
